Partyhat Kill Point's Exchange

Throughout Runescape servers, and Runescape itself, Partyhats are seen as items to symbolise wealth amongst the community.

Partyhats are a much desired item, no matter what kid of Runescape game you play (being official or private server). However, here on Rune-X-Scape, partyhats can be easily obtained through exchanging kill points for them. Even though it costs at least 2,000 kill points to buy the cheapest hat, it means that more and more partyhats are still entering the server.

This being said, a result of this will lead to partyhats flooding the market and making them become worthless, the binary opposite to what their true intention and meaning is. There is still time to save the partyhat market by removing the option to buy these epic hats from the kill point exchanging system and possible swopping them for other items, maybe other holiday event items such as the easter ring, santa outfit.. Or maybe even more useful gear such as the Godswords, so maybe add in some dragon armour peices, etc.

To change this system would save Rune-X-Scape's partyhats from becoming junk over time. Their price has dropped significantly over the past weeks and months since so many are coming into game.

Please take this suggestion into consideration as I think it's an important factor for all Runescape servers, to have working partyhats for people to look up to and to be able to save up and buy, with gold peices and not kill points.

they will probably be removed when there are enough in the eco, remember that there are probably about 200 in the eco now at most and if we remove them then people wont be able to get them other than via donation making them rare which seems good until you think that in time we hope to have 200+ online at all times meaning that they would be uber rare and as people quit they would slowly just die out, in time we will remove them but i dont think that the time is right yet

I'm glad to see that you have thought about this and will be planning to remove them from the kill point exchange system once there is enough in circulation.

However, I disagree with you saying people will only be able to get them via donation. In the past few days I've seen a lot of people doing Slayer to get up their kill points and a lot of people buying new partyhats from the kill point shop, once again adding more into the server. If they were removed from that shop, people can still trade them from and to each other and more would ONLY enter the game if people donated (you could also raise the cost for the partyhat set if this was to go through).

I think the amount of hats already in circulation are huge compared to the amount of daily visitors we get to the server, which are usually 30-60 (meaning there are currently way too many partyhats to go round). When the player count DOES rise, to say 200 like you say, partyhats could always be re-introduced into the kill point shop for a limited period of time to boost the numbers.

I also disagree that people will begin to quit because they cannot get hold of a partyhat. I'm sure many people are interested in other things they wouldn't solely place their game time on such an item.

I appreciate your reply, though Chris. I'm glad you've read my suggestion and got back to me, however I would love to see this suggestion get a bit more support and taken into further consideration as we can all agree the partyhat prices have dropped considerably.

The point people do slayer is for the party hats so why remove them. in the shops there is nothing actully good other than the party hats and the god swords. I'm not sure about this but the people who have got the party hat set legit from slayer and you take the phats out of the eco might cause them to quit because taking the phats out of the eco mean taking it away from the kpts shop and from there bank.

I'm sure the people who do slayer just for the phats (who i'm not aware of) won't quit. Do people really just play this game to do slayer 24/7 just to buy another phat and add it to the game?

I'm sure if they were taken out of the kill point shop, they would find something else to buy, whether it be the godswords or the new items added (if decided upon Chris and Dan). The partyhat collectors can continue to make money in other areas of the game and purchase partyhats the way they're supposed to be traded, through other players.

also, people seem to get excited that even if they are a new player they can eventually work hard to get a partyhat. even though im not a huge fan of having them in the shop, it does seem to make new players happy and encourage hard work and rewards.

I'm all up for encouraging new players to work hard and to stay active on the server, but is it really worth it for the rare market, especially partyhats, to eventually die?

I think new players would be happy enough to see all of the other items they can buy in the kill point exchange shop and know they have a chance in the future to buy a partyhat from another player with their hard earned gold instead of just having no motivation at all to play.
